Affordable Hygiene Products For Physical Wellness

I've struggled to afford basic needs while pursing higher education.

There were many times in undergrad when I was stretching my budget to cover school related expenses (e.g., tuition/housing/books), groceries, and basic hygiene products. After budgeting for these costs I would frequently have less than $10-20 left in my bank account until I would receive my next paycheck.

Financially supporting myself in higher education hasn't always been easy, and I know many first-generation and low-income students face similar challenges.

These experiences taught me how to be resourceful and mindful about where I spent my money. I learned how to research affordable options and make choices that supported both my health and budget.

Taking care of your personal hygiene health doesn't have to be expensive and it shouldn't be, especially as a first-generation student. In this article, I share affordable self-care essentials that are effective and budget-friendly based on recommendations from skin care and health professionals, as well as my own research if you're looking for ways to prioritize your well-being without spending a lot.
